From Brussels to London, people across Europe got out to protest Russia’s invasion of Ukraine today.

Protesters take to the streets across Europe to oppose invasion of Ukraine

Tens of thousands gathered in cities including Brussels, London, Paris, Munich, Dublin and Geneva.

People across Europe took to the streets on Saturday to protest Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. From Brussels to London, protesters called on Russian President Vladimir Putin to halt the offensive against Ukraine. 

Outside the buildings of Russia’s permanent mission to the EU in Brussels, a large crowd gathered on Saturday afternoon holding banners emblazoned with slogans such as “Russian warship go f**k yourself;” “I’m Russian I stand with Ukraine” and “Adolf Putin.” The air was filled with the sounds of passing cars hooting their support and protesters shouting “Stop Putin.” 

Similar scenes took place across Europe, with people gathering in LondonMunichGenevaEdinburghDublin and Paris. In London, eggs were thrown at the Russian embassy, according to the Independent, as people attending the protest in the British capital shouted “Putin go home.” 


The outcry from across the world comes as Russia continues its attack on Ukraine with Russian forces aiming to take the capital Kyiv.
